Cultural Night and Computer Crash
This week has taken forever. At least for me. For some reason it feels like a month has passed in just 8 days. It's because of this that I am having a hard time remembering what happened this week. I know that for Mutual Wednesday night we did a cultural night. All of our girls come from varied backgrounds (Hispanic, Tongan, Russian, etc.), so we all brought food that represented our heritage and some of us performed talents or brought items that went with it. The Tongan food was my favorite! Especially the mango drink. You have to chew it because there is so much fruit it it! Delicious. I brought Irish soda bread and they asked me to dance. Since I don't know any Irish dancing I performed a modified version of Odette's Variation from Swan Lake. It must have been pretty good, despite not having dance in several years, because the girls really seemed to enjoy it. As for the kids, Vash has regressed in potty training and I don't know why he's lost interest in it. I bought him lots of brownies and cookies and told him he could have one anytime he uses the potty, but he's still wetting his pants instead. I think he might be reacting to having the house packed up. Did I mention we've been packing the house up? Not sure where we're going yet, but we're going none the less. Anyhow, I could see how it'd be hard to focus on the potty when everything familiar is being boxed and stacked and cleaned. Rhyla seems to not notice, but she's still pretty little to respond even to a large scale change, I think. She was being so cute at church yesterday. We were in the cultural hall waiting for Craig to finish up a meeting and she was running around the room, tracing the lines of the basketball court with her feet. LOL. She wasn't paying attention to anything in front of her and she ran right into a stack of tables. There was a loud thud, and she fell, but didn't cry. That part wasn't so funny as it was shocking. And finally, the kids decided to baptize Craig's computer which completely fried it to the point it wont turn on. Which leads me to where we are now. At Nana and Papa's house. Using the computer in the upstairs office, grateful to at least have access to a computer so that you, our avid readers (Joke), will not have to suffer the loss of my verbal musuing. Hopeefully by next week, I'll be typing on Craig's new lap top. Heres to wishful thinking!
