Birthday, Birthday, Who's got a Birthday!

Although Vash wishes it were his birthday, (He asks so often he now knows that it's in June, and that it's farther away than he'd like) this last week was my birthday. Guess I ought to hit a quarter life crisis or something but I don't know what to get crazy about. It was a great day. Craig and the kids took me to lunch at Gorky's and I got to try the Blow-Out burger. Basically it's a pound of deliciousness; beef, bacon, cheese, pulled pork, roast beef, coleslaw, and grilled onions in between toasted buns. So good. We're talking about trying to get Guy Fieri out here to sample it! Then we baked cupcakes and watched a movie together. Plus, I got tons well wishes on Facebook which of course is all the validation you need in life. (JOKE)

Kid's are funny as ever. I was making dinner one night and Vash walks in, sniffs, then says, "It smells hot." And he's gotten into this weird habit of changing clothes in the middle of the night. We put him in footie pajamas at night, but when we go check on him before we go to sleep, he's fully clothed in jeans and a shirt.

Rhyla's gotten very opinionated lately. If I'm about to change a song on the radio that she likes, she'll holler at me not to do it. And if she likes what we're eating for dinner, she'll tell me to stop eating so she can have more if she wants once her plate is clear. And she loves dancing so now she demands us to dance with her. The other night she was trying to get Vash to be her partner and he says, "I don't want to dance with Rhyla. She's got sticky hands."

This is me thoroughly enjoying my birthday balloons.
In other news, Craig had to leave for Houston yesterday so he'll be gone for ten days while he completes his training. The kids always sob when we drop him off at the airport. Vash kept asking if he could go too and Rhyla walks around the house calling for him. I hope they adapt well to his absence though because with the job he's got, I guess he'll be gone a lot.
On a cheerier note, my best friend Chelsea had her baby the other day! Makes me want another small one that can't get away. I may or may not have wished for that on my birthday candle, but I guess we'll see what the Lord has in store for us.
