Week One

Well, so far this year has been OK; not great, but not terrible. Each of the members of our family have taken a turn with a head cold but at least it's not the flu. Craig was supposed to head out to a rig this week but his uniform that he has to have to go out hasn't come in yet, so he's been home all week. The good news is that he's salaried and not hourly so it doesn't affect our income. He'd like to be working though so it's been tough on him.
Craig and I got new callings in the ward. He'll be serving as assistant Cub Master, which means he'll be helping with the Boy Scout's pack meeting once a month. And I got called to work as a Nursery Leader, which means I'll be teaching the babies Rhyla's age every week. We're pretty excited.
We took Rhyla to get her birthday pictures done this last week and I have to say; It's a very cute, but somewhat dark thing that we did. Well, we paid all this money for her Snow White costume and we thought, "Yeah, we'll dress her as Snow White." But you know me; I've got to have props. So we brought her in dressed as Snow White and had her hold... an apple.
I know, I know! What kind of mother am I? Well, the pictures are actually really cute and when I send out the wallets you'll all agree that even though the idea is a bit dark, it's way cute. Plus, she's not sleeping in any of them so it works. I do wish I'd have thought to bring some flowers or something too, but we got enough pictures with just the apple. And the apples served as great snacks while we finished our shopping up afterwards.
We also took Christmas down this week and Vash is so disappointed that he keeps asking if we can go ahead and celebrate his birthday now so we can put streamers back up! And he's very specific; he wants pumpkin cupcakes. I don't know how that'll work with the pirate theme but we'll figure it out I guess.
If you're wondering why there are no pictures this week the answer is that Craig got me an iPhone and it takes amazing pictures. Because of that I haven't brought the camera with me in a while... but I also don't know how to get the pictures from my phone into the computer yet... so for the week you'll get no pictures.
But I sure like my new phone! I even have an app called garage band so I can finally make my "Part of your world" remix. Of course, I'll have to figure out how to use the app first, but at least I have access to making that long awaited dream come true!
