Well, this is the last week before Craig will be heading out to Houston for eight weeks to attend academy. Not really looking forward to him being gone, but we're hoping once he's back that he'll get a week off so we can take the kids camping and fishing. You know, eat S'Mores and all that good stuff.
Rhyla is getting girl-ier by the minute. She loves having her hair done and is still quite insistent on wearing a dress 99% of the time. The other day I caught her playing with some straws and when I asked what she was doing she says, "Making snakes."
Enjoying their breakfast cupcakes.
Does this make me a bad mom? Nutrition wise? Undoubtedly. In my children's eyes? Not a chance.
Vash loves the idea of being a hero and when I tell him he needs to stop bouncing around because he'll get hurt, he looks at me with a teenager's disinterest and says, "Mom... I'm a fireman."
LOL. Like that's the end of the discussion.
We've been enjoying some nice weather out here finally. And I've seen Robins out so they tell me that means winter is officially over. While we were playing outside the kids each picked up a stick and claimed they were spooky or ghost trees. Vash went so far as to "Plant" a stick and then said, "Behold, a stump. And Heavenly Father will make it grow."
Gotta love child like faith.
Rhyla just being adorable and coloring on the floor all by her onesie. I went in to check on the kids the other night, because of some suspicious noises from upstairs, and Rhyla told me to go take a nap! Obviously they wanted me gone so they could continue their mischief.
This is her diva pose. She's definitely my daughter because she loves anything Disney. The other day in nursery she ate about 12 mickey shaped pieces of cheese when the other kids wouldn't hardly touch them!
Sibling love.
This is one of those pictures that will embarrass the heck out of these two some day. But right now I think it's just too cute.
Did I mention that Rhyla does her own hair some days? I think she was readying herself for an audition to be in Hair or something. LOL!
"Good Morning Star shine. The Earth says hello!"
The Marvel shirt. Vash got about five super hero shirts and he's been taking the best care of them. Folds them neatly and packs them into a bag that he carries around every where we go. Only trouble is he keeps changing his shirt throughout the day.
One of Rhyla's stranger outfits. Notice the leopard print leggings that complete the ensemble.
A few funny Vash stories to share;
Vash told me he couldn't scratch his own head, before grabbing my hand and using it to get the job done.
Vash was sleeping in very late one morning and when I went in to wake him up, he says, "No, Mom! Four more minutes!"
Vash was telling Rhyla a story and all I heard was; "Once upon a time, Mommy put Christmas and candy in my bowl."
Best story: We were looking through the kids baby books and ultrasound pictures and stuff and Vash got this sad face. I asked what was wrong and he says, "Baby Vash was cute."
I said, "Yes, he was."
Then he asked, "What happened to me?"
I love my kids and the joy they bring to our family. I'm grateful that we were able to view General Conference last weekend and hear the words of the Prophets. I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father that gives us guidance and direction to help us be better parents and spouses. We have good days and bad days, and days where everyone just needs a nap. But I wouldn't trade what I have for anything in the world.
