Well I know I missed another week but I'm gonna be honest; I had to drop Craig off at the airport last week and I won't see him until the middle of June... So needless to say I wasn't in the mood to do anything but sob to myself last week.
The kids have started doing a chore chart. Simple things like making their beds and brushing their teeth. If they complete all the chores on the chart all week, they get to do or buy something special. The first week, while Craig was still home, they worked hard to get the Avengers movie. Funny enough, they had zero interest in watching it once it was on. This week they worked hard to go to Sea Base. They even got to play some games and ride the train this time.
Vash is showing us his Iron Man Arc Reactor. He was VERY interested in what the thing on Iron Man's chest was so... now that he knows, he likes to pretend he has one.
Vash has been saying lately that he wants to kiss me like a princess and will then kiss my hand and bow to me. So adorable.
As will sometimes happen, the kids didn't actually go to sleep when we thought they would and instead got into and ruined my makeup. I'd be upset except Craig let me replace it all and she looks so darn cute.
Vash wasn't as interested in putting it on his face as he was rubbing it all over the counter.
We went to Costco one day and it turns out that the only one near us is at a place called the Water Front. We stood there and watched the barges pass while the kids threw berries and rocks over the fence.
A few days before that we went to the Trolley Museum. They had a whole warehouse full of really old and vintage ones. A lot of them were in the process of being restored so they wouldn't let us look at more than a few of them.
Rhyla loved riding the seventy year old trolley. Vash liked it too, but he was anxious to return to the main store so he could play with the little trains.
Vash's happy face.
The other night he wouldn't go to sleep and when I asked why, he says, "There's a parade outside and I'm scared."
Rhyla's happy face.
Rhyla refused to sleep the other night too. She had a string of Mardi Gras beads and was playing at the foot of the stairs. Craig and I joked that she was having a Mardi Gras party for one.
The other day, I call said to Rhyla, "Hey Goose" and she responded by quacking. Hilarious.
And when Vash was talking about the parade outside, Rhyla added that there were fireworks and emphasized it with a "Boom!"
In other news, I got released as a nursery worker and called as a Relief Society teacher. I'm pretty excited. We took the boy scouts bowling last week and I beat Brother Yetter by one point. (104 - 103) He must still be upset because he told the entire WARD about it over the pulpit during fast and testimony meeting. LOL. And, we've got one week down, seven to go for Craig to come home. I'll be glad when it's seven down and one to go but... we'll get there.
